Dr. Jacqueline Clune
BA, B.Dent.Sc (Hons), MFDS RCSEd, DClinDent. (Orthodontics), M.Orth RCSEd

Dr. Clune is our orthodontist here in Callan Dental. Jacqueline is a multi-award winning Dentist with over 15 years experience. She qualified as a Dentist from Trinity College Dublin (hons) in 2005 and established Callan Dental in her home county of Kilkenny in 2007 and it has since become a very well renowned and leading centre of dental excellence in the South East.

Jackie is highly dedicated to the continuous professional development, striving to deliver the very latest in dental technology and expertise to her patients. She is accredited with postgraduate qualifications in ‘Pain Management and Sedation’ and ‘Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry’ by the world-renowned Eastman Dental Institute and was awarded Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
Jackie is highly passionate about orthodontics and was awarded a Certificate in Orthodontics from Warwick University in 2014. In addition, she has completed several advanced courses awarded by the American Society of Orthodontics and became a certified provider of Invisalign®, Incognito and WIN lingual braces.
She completed a 3-year full-time specialist orthodontic training and was awarded a Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics from University College Cork (Hons) and Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. She is a member of the Irish Orthodontic Society, European Orthodontic Society and is a member of the American Orthodontic Society.
Patients in her care receive personal attention, support and a highly professional service. Patients of all ages benefit from the most comfortable and effective orthodontic care that gives them the beautiful and healthy smile they deserve. She offers an extensive range of contemporary orthodontic braces to suit every income and lifestyle.

Dr. Jennifer Huston
Jennifer is particularly interested in the provision of treatment for nervous patients. Many clients who come to see her have not seen a dentist in many years, they may not have been attending due to fear or they may have been ashamed of their smile. She feels especially proud once she has gained the patients trust, answered all questions and given them a beautiful natural smile.
Jennifer was always interested in health and working with people, and she liked the hands on aspect of the job, carving fillings, creating aesthetically pleasing restorations. Over the last few years she has found working with nervous adults particularly rewarding.
Jennifer has 5 years fulltime undergraduate University Training in Trinity College Dublin, One year postgraduate Vocational Training in the UK, and she spends an average of two weeks per year in Continuous Professional Training. She also qualified from an 18 months part time postgraduate Sedation Training.
Jennifer qualified with an honours degree in 2008 and is continuously updating with courses as new techniques come out.

Dr. Aoife Farrell
Since having orthodontic treatment as a teenager, Aoife became fascinated with dentistry and decided to pursue this career path. When she began working, she soon found that she really enjoyed treating nervous patients and this is now her main field of expertise.
Aoife completed 5 years full time undergraduate training in University College Cork, she qualified with an honours degree in 2008. She went on to do twelve months part time post graduate training with Dr. Paul Tipton in restorative dentistry. She completed weekend courses with Dr. Chris Charon for inhalation sedation training and also completed an eighteen month part time, post graduate training in conscious sedation and pain management from Eastman School of Dentistry in 2014. Aoife continues upskilling each year with numerous courses per year in continuing professional development and takes part in yearly CPD courses in order to keep up to date with new advances and techniques in dentistry.

Dr. Eimear Rowan
Eimear graduated with an honours Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Cardiff University, Wales in 2006.
Following graduation, Eimear spent four years working full time in a busy NHS and private practice in West Wales, where she developed a passion for working with anxious patients. Keen to develop her skills in this field, Eimear completed a postgraduate diploma in Conscious Sedation at Cardiff University, which qualifies her to provide care under both inhalation and intravenous sedation.
To broaden her clinical experience in this field, she transitioned to the role of Senior Dental Officer in the Community Dental Service in Swansea, where she spent seven years. Her duties there involved providing dental care to extremely anxious, special care, medically compromised and vulnerable paediatric and adult patients. Dedicated to expanding her skill base, she completed postgraduate training in behavioural management, hypnosis and cognitive behavioural therapy, skills she continues to use in her day to day practice. Eimear is committed to continued professional development and continues to attend regular training days to update her own skills.

Dr. Charles Alton
Charles, grew up in Essex, England and attended dental school at Newcastle University, completing his degree in 2018. Following this he worked as an associate in the North East of England for 2 years where he gained experience in all aspects of dentistry, before relocating to Ireland in 2020 for family reasons.
His clinical area of interest lies in cosmetic dentistry and the use of teeth whitening and composite bonding. He is focused on helping patients transform and learn to love their smiles. He has undertaken postgraduate professional training in this area and plans to begin his Restorative Masters in 2021. Charles is also committed to providing a comfortable experience for patients and finds helping patients alleviate dental anxiety highly rewarding.
In his spare time Charles enjoys keeping active through cycling and rock climbing.
